This site is designed, created and written entirely by me - Richard Gwilt. The research is a joint venture with my wife and colleague on the baroque violin, Irmgard Schaller, who also offers invaluable help with proof-reading. We are both baroque violinists; I have been playing professionally (primarily with London Baroque) since 1984, and teaching at College level almost as long; 1986-2005 at Trinity College of Music, London, and since 2005 as Professor of Baroque Violin at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.) Irmgard has been playing since 1988 with The Orchestra of the 18th Century (Frans Brüggen), played with London Baroque from 1994 - 2015, and taught at The Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Poland
