Sorgh was another Dutch Golden Age painter, who apparently painted mostly interiors with peasants. This picture is one of my favourite drawings - Man playing the violin c. 1650. He looks so satisfied, and not just because of the flagon of wine by his side! Once again - short bow, thumb under the hair, and a very high frog. Notice also, as so often in the early to mid- 17th century, the bridge sits very low, at the bottom of the f-holes.
