A Timeline history of the Violin Bow - from c. 1600 - 1800

Piazzetta spent most of his life in Venice, and while not as successful as his contemporaries Ricci or Tiepolo, his output was wider ranging. Notable is a large number of excellent drawings - of which this is a lovely example. Thumb on the stick bow-hold, and a fairly thick stick, implying indigenous wood.
