I particularly like the scroll on the table -- judging by the number of old violins I've seen with worn scrolls exactly where they would have rested on a table, I think that this can be regarded as accurate. Certainly the details are in general very precise. The violin seems to be held slightly higher than on many of the Dutch pictures, resting against the neck rather than chest.

It's not easy to be sure, but I think the thumb is under the frog here.
